My Philosophy - Strengthening the Bond Through Understanding

Because of my extensive education in the field of animal behavior, I bring a unique perspective to the selection, ownership and education of your dog. I believe the first step to a healthy bond between parent and pup is making sure you choose the right dog for your lifestyle. Once you've found the perfect match, proper canine education will ensure that your relationship isn't strained by unwanted behaviors. I only use balanced, positive reinforcement training so that the experience is pleasurable for both you and your dog. And should a behavior issue arise at any point during your life together, I believe it is possible to work together to develop a solution.

About Me: Lisa Rotter

Lisa Rotter

I graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and then earned my Master's Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Animal Behavior and Conservation from Hunter College in New York City. While obtaining my graduate degree, I owned and operated a dog walking and training business in Manhattan where I focused on positive canine interaction and obedience training.

I did my Master's thesis with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and became a cat and dog volunteer, assisting with the training of shelter dogs preparing for adoption. I am also an active consultant with the ASPCA's Field Investigation and Response team, traveling across the country for the rescue and relocation of animals in peril. I grew up with dogs, cats and horses, and competed on the University of Miami Intercollegiate Equestrian Team.

Promoting animal welfare and the humane treatment of our four-legged friends is my passion, and I take great satisfaction from helping others understand the secrets inside the animal mind.
